На марке изображен портрет композитора по фото 1970-х годов, часть нотной записи «Сонаты-монолога» для скрипки соло, написанной А. И. Хачатуряном в 1975 году. Оформление В. Коваля, гравюра на металле Л. Майоровой. Номер (ЦФА) — 5394. Тираж — 4,7 млн экз.
