- This redirect category (rcat) template populates رده:Redirects from unnecessary disambiguation and, when the redirect is in ویکی‌پدیا:مقاله چیست؟ (mainspace), then رده:Unprintworthy redirects is also populated by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the بنیاد ویکی‌مدیا's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in
printed versions. Mainspace redirects that disambiguate needlessly are not suitable for a printed version. In other words they are unprintworthy.
- رده:Redirects to disambiguation pages, the redirect category that is populated by {{R to disambiguation page}}, is a ویکی‌پدیا:رده‌بندی of this rcat's category. So this rcat should not be used on mainspace disambiguation redirects with "(disambiguation)" in the page title. Use {{R to disambiguation page}} instead.
- Add this rcat to a ویکی‌پدیا:تغییرمسیر in the following manner:

- Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:

- This is in accord with instructions found at WP:REDCAT.
- Use this rcat to tag any redirect in any namespace from currently unnecessary ویکی‌پدیا:ابهام‌زدایی. An example is Jupiter (planet), which has an unnecessary qualifier in parentheses, "()". In this case planet مشتری (سیاره) is the ویکی‌پدیا:ابهام‌زدایی and the most likely target for a search of "Jupiter". Usually, the page with the qualifier in parentheses has been moved (renamed) to a title without the qualifier. After that, the page with the qualifier becomes a redirect and should be tagged by this rcat. Besides the straighforward Jupiter redirect, examples are:
