بیابان تانامی
بیابان تانامی، بیابانی در شمال استرالیا واقع در قلمرو شمالی است. زمین آن سنگلاخی است و تپه‌های کوچکی در آن دیده می‌شود. این بیابان آخرین مرز قلمرو شمالی است، که تا سدهٔ بیستم میلادی هنوز بخش‌هایی از آن ناشناخته بوده است. مسیر تانامی از عرض این بیابان می‌گذرد.

تانامی از منطقه‌های حفاظت شده‌است و در مجموع مساحت ۲۵٬۹۹۷٬۲۷۷ هکتار زمین را پوشش می‌دهد.[۱][۲][۳]
منابع زیستی ویرایش
برپایهٔ ادعای منابع دولتی استرالیا، این بیابان «یکی از مهم ترین منطقه‌های زیستی یافت شده در استرالیا است چرا که چندین گونهٔ کم یاب و رو به نابودی را در خود پناه داده است.»[۴][۵]
در ژوئیه سال ۲۰۱۲ میلادی، ۱۰٬۰۰۰٬۰۰۰ هکتار از این بیابان برابر با ۳۸ درصد از منطقهٔ زیستی به عنوان منطقهٔ حفاظت شده اعلام شد.[۶][۷][۸][۹][۱۰]
