نام واقعی او «فلورنثیو کنستانتینه‌آئو» بود و در شهر «اُرتوئِیّا» در استان بیسکای به دنیا آمد و در سال ۱۸۸۹ میلادی به آرژانتین مهاجرت کرد.[۱]
فلورنسیو، چندی بعد دچار فروپاشی روانی شد و در نوامبر ۱۹۱۹ در مکزیکو سیتی درگذشت.[۲]
