این پروتئین یک گیرنده جفت‌شونده با پروتئین جی است که به سکرتین اتصال می‌یابد و نخستین عضو از خانوادهٔ گیرنده‌های سکرتین بود که کلون شد.[۴]

این پروتئین با «پپتید فعال‌کننده آدنیلات سیکلاز هیپوفیز» تعامل پروتئین-پروتئین دارد.[۵]
