The Template:Taxobox/taxonomy is a subtemplate of biology Template:Taxobox, to show rows of low-level taxon names (order, family, genus, species, etc.) in a Taxobox infobox for a species or biological topic. This template is part of a nested group, where {Taxobox/taxonomy} shows the lowest taxon names, and then {Taxobox/taxonomy/1} shows the next-highest names, followed by {Taxobox/taxonomy/2} as higher, and then {Taxobox/taxonomy/3} to show even higher taxon names.
The template produces a series of cells that will appear in an Automatic taxobox.
By default it will display only major taxonomic ranks (kingdom, phylum, class ... genus, species), and the immediate parent of the taxon in question, specified with |1=taxon.
Specify |2=number of ranks to display to display more immediate parents with a minor taxonomic rank.
